Hope the new year is better than the last. Let’s all try and take care of each other. Endeavor to bring compassion and forgiveness to those situations that elicited hate and distrust in the past. Let the new decade be one of human spiritual growth.
Let’s all hope and pray for world peace and prosperity in 2010. And if not world peace, maybe just a little more understanding. Nudity can go a long way to changing our perceived differences.

On this day, in 1994, President Bill Clinton fired Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders over her controversial statements that masturbation as a viable alternative to preteen sex should be taught in schools. Actually, a reporter asked her if she thought masturbation should be taught in high schools, and Dr. Elders answered “Yes, I think it is a part of human sexuality and perhaps it should be taught.” An unguarded moment, perhaps, but certainly not an official pronouncement. Sounds like a well thought out answer, given that it was made at the height of the AIDS epidemic, and not a statement of policy or official recommendation. The press and conservative groups had a field day, however, and that was all she wrote, so to speak. People are so stupid.
We can all use a little more jacking off in our lives.
This coming Monday, ViginGalactic will unveil its new space tourist venture prototype, Space Ship Two, for the press and public. Space Ship Two will carry six paid passengers to the edge of space and back. Followers of GomezPactchouly know how much of a follower of this venture I am. The relatively tiny spacecraft will be hoisted to the stratosphere by the Mothership Eve aircraft, shown with the Space Ship Two in the photograph. Simply beautiful design work, here, don’t you think?
